“Shipping” or “delivery” means the dispatching of products to the customer after Grandchicks has been fully paid for goods ordered by the customer or on behalf of the customer.
We will only accept and deliver orders with a value of at least R200 (including VAT).
At this stage, we service mainly the surbubs in Gauteng, limited to within 50 kilometres of Midrand and surrounding areas. Should you require delivery outside these areas, you should contact us before you place and order to find out if it will be possible, and if so, what the additional shipping cost will be.
We now offer a next day delivery service. Specifically, orders received by 17:00 on any business day, will be delivered the next day. Orders placed on Saturdays and Sundays BEFORE 17:00 will be delivered on Mondays.Specifically, we do not deliver on Sundays and any South African public holiday. Should it be unavoidable for us to exceed these delivery times, you will be notified either telephonically or electronically.
A delivery fee will be charged for each order placed by you, depending on the distance between Midrand and your required place of delivery. The rates are set out below, and may be subject to change from time to time, at the discretion of Grandchicks.
- Zone 1A (collection - only by prior appointment) - No charge
- Zone 1B (0 - 10km within Midrand) - R50 per order
- Zone 2 (11-34km from Midrand) - R75 per order
- Zone 3 (35-50km from Midrand) - R95 per order
On delivery of the order to the specified delivery address, you will receive Grandchicks’s delivery note (physically or by way of e-mail) showing the items delivered. For verification purposes, the person accepting delivery at the delivery address will be required to produce a form of identification and sign for the products received to confirm receipt. Any person other than yourself who receives the products delivered at the delivery address is presumed to be authorised to accept delivery on your behalf.
Should no-one be in attendance at the delivery address specified by you at the time of delivery, the driver will return the Products and leave a notice at the delivery address to that effect. We will then attempt to contact you to make new arrangements for delivery. Grandchicks reserves the right to charge an additional delivery fee should it be required under these circumstances. Our sole liability for failing to deliver the products timeously is limited to delivery being effected at a later agreed time at no additional charge.
Please arrange that you or your authorised representative, who is a responsible person, is available to accept your order at the delivery address and that appropriate access will be made available.
Grandchicks will indicate its acceptance of your order by delivering the products to you, and only at that point will a contract between you and Grandchicks be completed. This is regardless of any communication from Grandchicks stating that your order or payment has been confirmed.
Should Grandchicks reject the order by cancelling it, we will as soon as possible thereafter, refund you for any amount already paid. Any products or services on the same order which have not been dispatched/delivered to you will not form part of that the contract between you and Grandchicks. Delivery dates are estimates only, and as we process your order we will inform you if any products or services on your order turn out to be unavailable or delayed for any reason.
